Make Alberta Hands & Voices Your Charity Of Choice

Alberta Hands & Voices is a registered Canadian Nonprofit organization.  Our funds are divided between several components of our group.

Guide By Your Side

Guide By Your Side (GBYS) is a program that has been highly successful for our other chapters, providing support to families who have children with identified hearing loss.

Alberta’s  Early Hearing Detection & Intervention (EHDI) program was officially rolled out in 2019, meaning children are being identified younger than ever. GBYS is looking to play a critical role in working with the families upon diagnosis. All guides are trained to ensure that each family receives the best support possible.

Monthly Events

Hands & Voices doesn’t have a physical location; for larger events the requirement to rent spaces arises.  Funds are also able to be used to bring in professional speakers to help educate the families.

Our events strive to provide a supportive environment for our members & their children to and  play a part of our inclusive WASK ideology (Well-Adjusted Successful Kid).

ASL Interpreters

Our events are open to individuals of all hearing pathways. Hands & Voices is a nondiscriminatory group on what method is used for communication. As such, we ensure ASL interpreters are present when needed so that all participants have the opportunity to communicate and connect with each other in the mode they are most comfortable.

All donations over $20.00 are eligible to receive a tax receipt.
